Our 2018 Cabernet Franc Sonnenberg received gold at the CARLO Wine Award in the “Red Wine” category. Award and motivation at the same time.

Our Syrah Katzenstein is excellent - in two senses. We are very pleased about the excellent rating at the Fair Wine Award 2024 and also about the forward-looking nature of Axel Neiß.

Dear wine lovers, dear partners, we wish you and you a happy new year and hope you are off to a good start. At the same time, the new spring is already being ushered in — in keeping with this and following the annual routine, this means that a new wine vintage is also being presented. We would like to make this tasty for you, our customers and wine enthusiasts. Here you can find our upcoming trade fair appearances.

Viewed on the map, our winery is located where the two Rieslings Burgweg and Schwarzer Herrgott grow qualitatively: At the — northern — tip of the Palatinate. The hand-picked grapes come from higher altitudes, which are known for their high lime content and therefore produce particularly mineral wines. Both bear our straightforward signature and yet are clearly distinguishable. Since the successful introduction of the Black Lord God last year, they have formed a congenial dual leadership. The 2022 vintage is now available.

The grape harvest is the moment we look forward to all year round. This shows whether careful care and meticulous work in the vineyard, combined with the influences of nature and weather, pays off. It was exciting until the very end of this year.

For the next two seasons at the DFB, the new wine line-up is ready just in time for the start of the season: A total of ten white wines, six red wines and four sparkling wines from well-known wineries from various growing regions were selected by the jury from more than 300 submitted wines and will be served at home games in the VIP area. The team of white wines also includes our 2022 Pinot Gris from Limestone.

A few days ago, we welcomed a group of WSET students to our winery to introduce them to our wines and our natural way of working and to discuss exciting and future-relevant topics together with the next generation of wine.

It is a great confirmation for our winery that, in addition to our Spätburgunder Glockenspiel Réserve, our 2018 Weissburgunder Burgweg can now also be pleased to receive 92 points from the pleasure magazine Falstaff.

In the big tasting of the “Falstaff Spätburgunder Trophy”, our Glockenspiel Réserve (born in 2016) impressed the expert jury and was awarded 92+ points.

The countdown is on and the preparations are almost complete. ProWein can start and visitors to our stand (Hall 4 A49) can look forward to some special features:

Our 2019 Sonnenberg Riesling received the title “Best of Show” in the “German Dry Riesling” category.

We are very proud to be able to offer our specially filled Riesling 2023 and 2024 on a total of seven Viking Line ships.

With the 2021 vintage, we are expanding our segment with the first Riesling from this trendy location. Burgweg and Herrgott will form a congenial dual leadership in the future.
